My career has been an interesting one that has built cumulatively over the years to make me what I am today. I moved to Columbia, South Carolina in the 90's to pursue my Master's Degree in Acting and Directing. After finishing grad school, I immediately started teaching full time as a Middle School Drama Teacher, and part time at the University of South Carolina as a Public Speaking professor. After my 5th year of teaching, I had an opportunity to move to a career in video production with a local company that produced film and video primarily for two industries; healthcare and college-level foreign language education. I loved both of these things.

In 2001, I joined the Carolinas Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society, an organization that supports networking and education for hospitals and marketing professionals in North and South Carolina. I was honored to serve nine years on their board, becoming the first non-hospital employed President of the organization, and the youngest recipient of the John L. Thomason Award for achievement in healthcare public relations and marketing work for the society. To say that I owe my career to this organization would be an understatement.

After cutting my teeth working in video production, I decided I needed to learn the advertising agency side of things, and worked for several years for an ad agency in Columbia that specialized in Healthcare marketing and advertising. While I've had a huge focus on healthcare during my career, I've also been fortunate to work on many projects outside of the healthcare industry.

started RedChoux in 2007, excited to provide video and photography services to my clients, working in creative collaboration with them and with their advertising agencies.

I love to capture what is real, what is genuine, and what is good in people. I'm not an intimidating person at 5'3", and my easy-going demeanor helps put people at ease... that's when they look their best and reveal what's heartfelt and sincere. The combination of my background in acting and directing and my experience as a Public Speaking professor helps me work with people who aren't necessarily professional talent. I can easily guide them to being their best selves on camera, whether in an interview situation or in directing them as talent in a commercial.

Love people. Love your work. The end result can't be anything but successful.

Let's talk soon,

Michele
